CRICKET

Over the last half-term, we have had the privilege of a cricket coach from Rockingham Cricket Club coaching in Y5 P.E. lessons teaching skills for the children to apply to the game. It has been a lot of fun and the children have enjoyed this experience.

Cricket is a bat and ball game played between two teams of eleven players each attempting to score as many runs as they can by trying to hit the ball the furthest. Runs are scored when batters run between two wickets whilst their opponents bowl and field to minimise points scored.

The cricket coaching has been great and the children have learned lots of skills and tricks. We already have four cricket players who play for Rockingham and Worsbrough Bridge Cricket Teams, but a lot more interest was shown from the children, so hopefully, this coaching will encourage our Y5 children to join our local teams and become more active.
